I tried out Firefox 22 and I notice it has a new built in PDF reader. It is very handy. I've noticed that it always opens the PDF as 'Automatic Zoom' which is way too small for me. I've viewed probably a few dozen PDF documents today in it and each time I'm switching the zoom to 150% so it's legible for me. First of all, hi guys. I would like talking about a project of Mozilla Foundation (the Foundation behind Firefox, Thunderbird, MDN, etc.). The project name is Common Voice and its goal is to collect voices of people to create a free and open-source dataset, which you could use for various themes, like educational, AI, etc. And currently just 'Big tech' have projects like this and they required. Zoom is definitely not the solution, it works in chrome, it works partially in IE but moves the entire html div, firefox doesnt do a thing. My solution that worked for me was using both a scaling and a translation, and also adding the original height and weight and then setting the height and weight of the div itself.
UPDATE! This question is not marked as answered, as the issue is a new 'feature' of Firefox 22, and if you read all the comments you'd see that. Clearly, with the large volume of 'new' answers coming in saying the same thing over and over, people aren't, so I'll say it here: THERE IS NO NEED TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION ANY MORE.
I recently asked about my UI being big and fuzzy, and managed to get that fixed in the about:config, but websites are still big.
For some reason, the default zoom (ctrl+0) is at 120%.
I tried the FullZoom and NoSquint addons, but both had one issue. They messed up the top level image view (which for me works with the old default image style addon) and made the unzoomed image a bit bigger than my screen, and the magnifying glass icon which should appear with a + or - in it when I mouse over the image is just a regular mouse pointer instead.
How can I reset the default zoom to be 100% (or preferably about 80% because even 100 seems to be overcompensating for my high dpi screen) without an addon messing up my default image view?
Further details. If I disable the 'old default image style' addon, the top level image view works fine with the NoSquint or FullZoom addons.
Mozilla Firefox 73 is now available for download, and one of the biggest changes is the addition of a global setting to configure the default zoom level for all pages.
If you think this isn’t necessarily a major improvement, you’d better think again.
Before this update, Firefox only allowed users to configure a zoom level per each website, which for someone who uses this accessibility feature on a regular basis was without a doubt frustrating.
Technically, to set a zoom level in Firefox users first had to load a page, configure the new settings, go to a different page, configure the new settings, and so on. While extensions to automatically enforce a defined zoom level on all pages did exist, such an option was missing from Firefox.
But thanks to the release of Firefox 73, you can finally configure a default zoom level on all pages, all straight from the preferences screen.
To do this, first make sure that you’re running the latest stable version of the browser, as this option is missing in older builds. Next, you need to navigate to the following location to find the new setting:
Firefox > Options > General > Language and Appearance > Zoom
Click the drop-down menu and choose the new value that you want to use on all websites and you’re done. Firefox allows you to pick a value between 30% and 300%, with the default configuration set at 100% - if you want to return to the original settings at a later this time, this is the value that you need to choose in the drop-down menu.Set Firefox Default Zoom Level
Firefox also comes with an extra option that allows you to “zoom text only.” This is particularly useful if you have trouble reading text on webpages, but on the other hand, it doesn’t adjust the size of the other elements on a site, such as the menus or the images. So while this option could be useful for some, you’d better stick with the global zoom setting.

The other options to adjust the zoom level per each webpage continue to be available in Firefox.

For example, if you want to increase and reduce the zoom level on one site, load the page, and then click the Firefox menu button > Zoom. Mozilla offers dedicated buttons to increase and decrease the value alongside a full-screen button should you want the browser to be expanded to your entire screen.
Additionally, you can also adjust the page zoom level faster by holding CTRL + mouse wheel. A similar shortcut uses the keyboard, so press CTRL + plus/minus key to increase and decrease the page zoom.
Once you adjust the page zoom level successfully, you should see the new value in the address bar – clicking this small notification in the address bar restores the default settings to 100% zoom level.
Firefox Default Zoom Scale
Mozilla Firefox isn’t the only browser that offers global page zoom options, as similar settings are also available in Google Chrome, for instance. Google’s browser, however, allows users to choose a value between 25% and 500%, but this time an option just to increase the text size isn’t available. Nevertheless, Google Chrome does allow users to just change the font size, albeit this isn’t necessarily a workaround for this.

The new version of Firefox brings the global zoom options to all desktop platforms, so the aforementioned steps work not only on Windows, but also on Linux and Mac. The feature is only available after installing Firefox 73 or later.
